Ive judged many contests and one thing I can say for sure is that not every one will ever agree.
You want to bring every type of trick you can and on different features.

Red Bull sports should hold a summit before the event. I have seen athletes build massive structures to train for massive moves. But, not everyone has these amenities.
Choose the riders, and spend the money to build 50 foot drops into airbags or foam pit. Flat drops, step downs, to test their tricks on something very similar to what the contest will be. The rule of thumb is land it 3 times in the air bag before you bring it to dirt. This is a tried and true method. With riders helping each other and giving insights on how to improve their riding to achieve the goal of landing a move.
